You, Me & Mr P
Planning ahead
Planning ahead is important: in the short term, day-to-day structure and routine is really helpful and gives a degree of certainty to each day, each week, gives you things to be prepared for, or to look forward to, knowing that they are coming. Planning for the longterm, particularly for times of unexpected emergency, is perhaps not something you have done, but if, as the main carer, you were ever incapacitated, have you thought what would happen to your PWP? How would they cope? Could they cope? Who could help? What would they need to know? What would your PWP prefer to happen by way of help and support? What if you die before your PWP (definitely not part of our plan, but it could happen) - what then??? I hope this page will give you some ideas and resources to help you consider all of these things.
